What are dental veneers?
Veneers are ultra-thin porcelain shells that are cemented to the front of imperfect teeth to improve their appearance. Dr. Giulianelli will remove a thin layer of enamel from the surface of your teeth to make space for the veneers. Then we’ll take impressions of your teeth and send them to a lab to fabricate veneers. Your restorations will be custom-made to match your original teeth for a natural look. As creating real-looking veneers can take a few weeks, we’ll cover your teeth with temporary veneers during this interim period. When your porcelain veneers are ready, we’ll remove the temporaries and bond your porcelain restorations to dramatically transform your smile.Â
Is the veneers process painful?
Not at all. Many people complete the transformation with little to no anesthetic. If you have sensitive teeth, we’ll numb your mouth to keep you comfortable and relaxed for your treatment. Â Â

How long do dental veneers last?
Porcelain veneers aren’t permanent, as, eventually, your restorations will wear down and need to be replaced. With good oral care, however, they can last 15 or more years. Good oral hygiene (brushing and flossing) along with regular dental cleanings can help keep your veneers in good shape over the long term. You can protect your restorations from premature wear or damage by avoiding hard foods, not chewing on ice, and not using your teeth as tools.
